DMFA, a family business, stands as a leader in art manufacturing, creating diverse pieces for galleries and artists worldwide, with a significant international presence. My role involved spearheading a crucial digital transformation: the recreation of all existing sculptures as high-fidelity 3D digital doubles.

This ambitious project leveraged industry-standard tools, including Maya for 3D modeling, Arnold for realistic rendering, and Photoshop or Nuke for compositing. This sophisticated digital pipeline yielded a comprehensive library of digital twins that served multiple, critical strategic purposes for DMFA.

The digital doubles proved instrumental in increasing sales by enabling rapid customer customization. We could swiftly mock up new designs based on client specifications, providing accurate visual representations. This capability allowed DMFA to produce more one-of-a-kind artworks, directly contributing to revenue growth.

Beyond customization, the project established a vital archival system. Every piece was meticulously built to scale, ensuring that if original physical pieces or molds were ever lost or damaged, a precise digital copy would exist for reference and duplication. This digital library also offered a significant manufacturing advantage, allowing for the seamless scaling of designs for production. A prime example is a candy sculpture, initially modeled as a 6-inch piece, which was successfully manufactured at nearly two meters tall, demonstrating the immense utility of these digital assets in diverse production scales.
